Who are ENHGP?

East and North Hertfordshire General Practice Ltd (ENHGP) is a GP-led organisation bringing together the 47 GP practices across East and North Hertfordshire. We have been created by local general practice to provide a clear, united and practical voice for primary care, and to help practices and Primary Care Networks work together at greater scale.

General practice is at the heart of local healthcare. Every day, GP practices support patients with urgent health concerns, long-term conditions, prevention, mental health, frailty, medicines, safeguarding and much more. ENHGP exists to strengthen this vital part of the NHS and help it play a central role in shaping and delivering future local services.

We work with GP practices, Primary Care Networks, community services, hospitals, local authorities, the Integrated Care Board and other partners to improve how care is planned and delivered across our area.

A key part of our role is to support the development and contracting of services that can be delivered safely and effectively in the community, closer to patients’ homes. This includes helping to shift appropriate care from hospital settings into general practice, Primary Care Networks and community-based services where this improves patient care, access and experience.

Our aim is simple: to help general practice work together at scale while keeping care local, personal and rooted in our communities.

What We Do

ENHGP supports general practice by:

providing a shared voice for GP practices across East and North Hertfordshire
helping practices and Primary Care Networks work together at scale
supporting the design and delivery of local NHS services
acting as a GP-led provider vehicle for suitable NHS contracts
enabling services to move from hospital into community and primary care settings where appropriate
working with wider health and care partners to improve local pathways
supporting quality, safety and consistency across locally delivered services
strengthening the role of general practice within the wider NHS

Our mission

Our goal is to provide an efficient, cost-effective platform where GPs can come together, shape decisions, and swiftly implement changes that benefit local healthcare. ENHGP Voice can concentrate on delivering a strong, unified GP perspective whilst fostering productive partnerships throughout the health system.
